Kids Church nurtures children’s faith through fun, interactive sessions rooted in God’s Word, equipping them to live biblically and supporting families in raising Christ’s future disciples.
Safeguarding
At ELIM Northampton, the safeguarding of our children and young people is our utmost priority. All God Tots, Kids Church, and youth volunteers undergo safer recruitment checks in line with best practice guidance. This includes, but is not limited to, an enhanced DBS check, full employment history, and satisfactory references to ensure suitability. Our DBS-checked team ensures that every child is cared for in a safe, nurturing environment while parents attend the main service.
God Tots // 3-5 years old
God Tots is for children aged 3 to 5 years old. In the September they start Year 1, they move into our Kids Church area.
Kids Church // Primary School Age
Kids Church is for children in primary school, from Year 1 to Year 6. Children are grouped according to their school years, allowing us to tailor teaching and activities to their age and stage of development.
Sessions
All our sessions follow the structure of the 4 P’s:
Problem – Each biblical principle addresses a real-life problem children may face, such as fear, impatience, or worry.
Promise – We then connect this to God’s Word, exploring the promise God gives to meet that need.
Proof – We illustrate the principle through stories from the Bible, helping children see it in action through the lives of God’s people.
Push – Finally, we encourage children to consider how this principle changes their thinking or behaviour, helping them apply it in their own lives.
While the core theme runs through each week, it is adapted for different developmental stages. For example, a child in Green Group (Years 5–6) may explore the same principle as a child in Blue Group (Years 1–2), but in a way that is more age-appropriate and challenging.
All our sessions are designed to be engaging, interactive, and practical, giving each child the tools they need to grow in their faith in Jesus.
Important things to note
Our children’s provision is limited, so please arrive early to guarantee a space. Registrations are open from 10:15am to 10:40am.
When you arrive at church, don’t hesitate to ask a member of our welcome team to guide you to the registration areas.
On your first visit to God Tots or Kids Church, a parent or guardian is required to complete a registration and consent form (please complete the form linked below).
When dropping off your child, you will receive three stickers:
One with your child’s full name for our register.
One with your child’s first name to be placed on your child for identification.
One for you, the parent/guardian.
Each sticker contains a unique code, which allows us to safely match your child with the correct adult at pickup. Don’t worry – our friendly team will be there at registration to guide you through the process.
